Description
Lupine 'Russell Hybrid Mixed' is an impressive and versatile plant that adds a vibrant and colourful accent to your garden. This mix of Russell hybrids is known for its stately flower spikes that create a stunning visual effect. The long flower stems create a dramatic and elegant effect in any garden, making them ideal for creating a striking flower border or adding a colourful accent to your garden beds and paths.

Lupine 'Russell Hybrid Mixed' flowers from June to July and reaches a height of around 60 to 90 cm. During flowering, the plant attracts bees and butterflies, bringing extra life and movement to your garden.

Before planting Lupin 'Russell Hybrid Mixed', it is important to prepare the roots properly. Soak the roots in water for 3-6 hours to encourage establishment. Then plant the roots very shallowly, about 1-2 cm deep, in well-drained soil in a sunny to lightly shaded location. Although the lupine likes the sun, it can also tolerate some shade. Make sure you plant it at the same depth as where it originally grew. This lupine may prefer slightly acidic soil, so it may be useful to test the soil and adjust if necessary.

After flowering, Lupin 'Russell Hybrid Mixed' requires minimal maintenance. Remove spent flower stalks to keep the plant looking tidy and to allow energy to flow to the roots. Lupins are hardy and can withstand cold temperatures, but a mulch layer can help protect the roots in winter and keep the plant healthy.
